There are so many blogs on the internet these days that it is often hard to separate the good from the bad. To save you the work, here are recommendations for the top 50 Lesbian Dating Blogs. Some are specifically lesbian, some are specifically dating, others combine the two.

  1. http://www.lesbiansanddating.blogspot.com An excellent blog by girl2girl, otherwise known as Erica, a 38 year old from California. The blog contains dating advice, news, articles, politics, humor and links to some excellent relevant sites, including lesbian dating sites. Highly recommended.
  2. http://femmefluff.com/ There is very little information about the author of this site but it is a very well designed and written blog. General lesbian interest posts but also covers a few dating/relationship/sexual issues.
  3. http://www.femmecupid.com/blogs A section of www.femmecupid.com for individuals to create their own blogs. Anyone can contribute. There is a also a section on this site of 300+ dating advice and safety tips, as well as lesbian news, forums, greetings cards and online chat.
  4. http://www.cardcarryinglesbian.com/ This site claims to be “The best lesbian blog on the internet” and it certainly is a good one. Written by freelance writer Sasha Lotrian, who blogs about a variety of lesbian issues and her daily life as a lesbian with bipolar disorder. Dating is often covered within her blogs.
  5. http://gracethespot.com/ Grace the Spot is an entertainment, lifestyle, pop culture and current events blog founded by two lesbians in New York City, Grace Chu and Grace Rosen. Regularly updated, some great links and great dating articles. Very good site to use as a starting point for further exploration.
  6. http://www.lesbiandatingpersonals.co.uk/blogs/ Based around a dating site, the blogs are full of very useful dating advice so you can find a partner and get some tips on the same site. Some useful articles.
  7. http://lesbiantics.blogspot.com/ A lesbian called Jess who has recently come out on the internet. Although dating is covered, it isn’t the main focus of this blog. However, she writes with great insight and it is very readable.
  8. http://blog.coachsappho.com/ Described on the site as “America’s favourite lesbian love coach”, Barb Elgin founded Coach Sappho in 2001 as a life coaching firm specializing in serving lesbian women. The website has some excellent dating, lifestyle and relationship stories and advice. Definitely one of the best.
  9. http://www.alwaysloosetalk.blogspot.com/ There is no profile available for the writer of this blog which is a shame. The blog is regularly updated and the last post, Soul-Mates is intelligently written and the writer obviously researches her posts well. Recommended.
  10. http://www.meetherhere.blogspot.com/ Jolie du Pre is a full-time article writer, ghost writer, author and editor of erotica and owner of many blogs. If you can get past the ads on this one, there are some good articles including one on safety precautions for online dating.
  11. http://blogs.myspace.com/idgogayforangelina A single 28 year old from Los Angeles has started a blog on her MySpace page to try and get single lesbians over 30 together. It started in 2008 but posts are still being made. A little bit different from most of the other sites on this list.
  12. http://janeandjane.net/blog/ A well known lesbian online magazine focussing on families but also with some good dating advice and excellent links for further information.
  13. http://www.mombian.com/ Another family focussed lesbian magazine, geared towards mothers. Again, some good blog articles on varied subjects including dating, and some more excellent links.
  14. http://www.afterellen.com/blog There can’t be a lesbian dating blog site recommendation without this one. A very popular site, generally geared towards articles about lesbian and bisexual women in entertainment and the media. Occasional dating blogs but excellent all round site and will give you lots to talk about with your date!
  15. http://sisterstalk.net/blog/ Run in conjunction with Sisters Talk Radio, this is a “Lesbian blog with liberal tendencies” Includes blogs on various subjects and there is also a twitter account @sisterstalk if you prefer the micro blogs. Dating advice, stories and etiquette have been covered.
  16. http://lesbianlife.about.com/ By Kathy Belge, an author who has been an advocate and counsellor for LGBT youth for more than 10 years. Excellent blogs, such as How to Flirt with Women. A very helpful and informative site.
  17. http://www.thelesbianquestion.com The Lesbian Question is “an open platform for anyone (but mostly lesbians) who wants to Ask, Answer, Write or Contribute anything about (or to) The Lesbian Community.” Many people post blog type entries and responses are made. Many of the posts are about dating/relationship issues. Highly recommended if you have questions about lesbian dating.
  18. http://www.glasgowlesbians.co.uk/ There is little information about Sally who runs this site but she blogs about the lesbian scene in Glasgow. There are also blogs on lesbian dating and of general interest to lesbian and bisexual women but the focus is clearly on her locality.
  19. http://www.aconservativelesbian.com/ Blog by Cynthia Yockey, a 55 year old “newly conservative” American lesbian. Blog subjects have a political slant but she does have the occasional dating blog subject. Worth reading for the excellent intelligent writing. Definitely the ‘Broadsheet’ of lesbian blogs.
  20. http://www.curlymcdimple.com/ (Ham and Cheese on Wry) A humorous blog from a 30 year old New York lesbian. A long running blog with lots of readers. Covers many subjects and focuses on her own experiences which include dating. She has links to other recommended sites. An entertaining read.
  21. http://fleur-de-lisa.com/ Eclectic blog by Lisa, who is based in Indianapolis. Covers her thoughts about life, relationships, dating, likes and dislikes. A nicely set up site with some good writing.
  22. http://www.lesbofab.co.uk/ A site by a “UK lesbian with a weakness for good food, unconventional romance and strolls by the sea.” A regular blog with lots of dating advice. The site also covers reviews and useful links.
  23. http://www.curvemag.com/Curve-Magazine/Meet-Women/ A good online magazine for lesbian/bisexual women with an excellent blog on the author’s dating experiences. An excellent site all round with excellently written articles.
  24. http://www.tomydate.com/blog/?p=2741 One article on a general blog site, but it is so good I have included it here. “Useful and Great Lesbian Dating Tips” Essential reading.
  25. http://truthandlovebylandr.blogspot.com/ (Truth and Love After 40) A blog by two over 40 ladies, Lorrie and Rebecca, from Philadelphia, who realised later in life that they love women. A touching blog, looking at issues including dating from the perspective of the older woman who has previously lived according to other people’s expectations.
  26. http://www.lavendergirlsdating.com/ Another dating site where you can set up your own blog for others to read. Standard membership is free.
  27. http://getsteady.com/ Not specifically lesbian, but a site claiming to be “New York’s homebase for the single and searching LGBT community.” 100% verified photos and currently running a free 3 month trial. The site includes a very interesting blog covering various issues.
  28. http://www.lesbianuk.co.uk/ Very good UK based site covering dating, events and a blog. Seems to be undergoing a redesign at the moment but it is looking good so far. Definitely worth bookmarking.
  29. http://thelesbianlifestyle.com/ A very interesting multi-author blog which was created to collect real life stories written by lesbians from around the world. Blogs written by women from a number of countries on a variety of subjects, including the lesbian dating scene. Very good project and certainly worth a read.
  30. http://www.gaycincinnati.com/ A well put together site for the LGBT community in Cincinnati. Covers interesting blogs of general LGBT interest, as well information on gay and lesbian bars, clubs etc. Excellent local resource and community.
  31. http://www.queeryouth.org.uk/community/ A slightly messy site but excellent content. Run by volunteers primarily for LGBT young people in the UK. Includes, forums, blogs, events, issues and links for advice. Very useful for the UK, less so for elsewhere but the blogs are still interesting.
  32. http://moviesforlesbians.blogspot.com/ Not a dating blog per se but useful if you are going out on a date and want to read reviews of lesbian movies and TV. Unfortunately no author information on this one, but the reviews are good.
  33. http://newyorkex.blogspot.com/ “New York Ex – the world’s most powerful lesbian” Not sure about the claims but it’s a good blog. Author profile not available but the blog covers a variety of topics including dating experiences. Also recommends some other lesbian blogs.
  34. http://www.lesbiandating.net/blog/ A site which reviews lesbian dating sites. Very good blog full of advice and recommendations. Highly recommended.
  35. http://boxedlunchlalesbians.blogspot.com/ “An insider’s look at the Los Angeles lesbian scene and a vital resource for those wanting to know what’s happening around town.” Covers reviews, advice, events etc. A good locally based blog.
  36. http://www.shedate.com/ This site requires registration. Once registered you can create a profile, upload video, photo, music, write and read blogs and IM other members.
  37. http://www.sugarbutch.net/ “The sex, gender and relationship adventures of a kinky queer butch top.” By its own admissions the site contains BDSM, kink, gender explorations, and explicit queer sex. Some amusing dating and relationship blogs are included among her posts.
  38. http://femmenextdoor.blogspot.com/ Written by a lesbian lingerie designer who has decided to share her knowledge on what women want. Includes dating and fashion advice.
  39. http://www.lesbiatopia.com/ “Strong enough for the GLBQTI community but pH balanced for lesbians.” Blogs on various subjects including relationships. Covers reviews, music, advice etc and also links to online dating site.
  40. http://kateclinton.com/communikate/blog.html Kate Clinton is described on her website as a “faith-based, tax-paying, America-loving political humorist and family entertainer, with a career spanning over 28 years” Her blog covers general and lesbian issues and regularly asks for readers’ opinions on issues such as the best way to meet other lesbians. Good blogs by a popular writer.

  42. http://nouveaubutch.wordpress.com/ Site is described as “… a group of friends decided that the Nouveau Butch is perhaps poised to be the next wave of optimism/feminism/individualism/charism. With advantages like comfortable footwear, figure-flattering clothes, and acceptable (no, appreciated) nerdy-ness, the next wave of queer women could possibly set the pace for all of human kind.” Very good blog with a brilliant section on date ideas.
  43. One Good Love A Gay/Lesbian dating site with some excellent dating blog articles.
  44. http://dawgdyke.blogspot.com/ Blogger from Toronto. The profile says “intelligent, complicated, spoiled, often profane, sports lover, dog owner, TV series watcher, fascinated by women, dyke extraordinaire!” Her blog questions labels, dating, and her life in general.
  45. http://alesbiankiss2desire.blogspot.com/ akiss2desire is “a Bible Belt Blogging Bi Big Beautiful Babe who has been sharing her writing, mostly 1st person lesbian erotica, short stories, poetry, and lesbian pop culture realizations from both the experience and fantasy perspectives to an ever growing audience” Some very readable writing, including dating tales.
  46. http://blogs.queercents.com/ Blogs with a financial emphasis for the LGBT community. Includes tips for lesbian singles and couples and advice on paying dating agencies.
  47. http://www.shewired.com General lesbian site but with a ‘post your own blog’ facility by members. Content looks informative, varied and interesting. Including videos and pictures.
  48. http://www.lezzieindacity.com/ This bloggy-journal follows the life of writer Lauren Hamilton as she tries to follow a well balanced diet of love, life, and fun in Los Angeles. Some very interesting blogs about love and life.
  49. A lesbian in Los Angeles A blog from a lesbian in Los Angeles, unsurprisingly. Although she is in a relationship she blogs about general issues, lesbian life and relationship issues. Another good read.
  50. http://lifeinthesuburbs.blogspot.com 46 year old blogger from Alexandria, VA, USA. Good, regular blog about life in the suburbs including a recent one about a first date. Very readable.
